In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, preparations for the carnival continue. A juggler and a magician practice their acts. Mime Walker and Lady Aberlin rehearse the tight-rope-walk pantomime. Lady Aberlin acts frightened at first, but he reassures her. Edgar Cooke summons Lady Aberlin for King Friday. He does not want the carnival to be held in the castle. He had not been asked for permission. Everyone is disappointed. They decide to offer King Friday an important place in the parade. When he learns he will be first in the parade with Queen Sara, he changes his mind and gives permission for the carnival tomorrow.
