Mister Rogers has been visiting with the Clemmonses in their new home. He shows that his ankle has healed since his accident. Mister Rogers visits Bob Trow’s shop to see a model of the trolley Mr. Trow has made. Mister Rogers talks about the many parts of the trolley. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, King Friday is upset because he has to wait so long for the baby to come. Many of the neighbors are trying to think of a way to distract the king. King Friday calls Mr. Anybody and they agree to have a play about a suitcase based on what the king chooses to put inside the suitcase. Mister Rogers asks his viewers what kind of a story they would make up, because each person will have different ideas.
Mister Rogers tapes together two large pieces of cardboard to make a suitcase. He discusses weight as he puts different items into the suitcase. He decorates his suitcase with crayons. Mister Rogers does an experiment, putting water into a glass to make it heavier and pouring it out to make the glass lighter. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Daniel tries to guess the contents of Mr. Anybody’s empty suitcase and tells Mr. Anybody about the new baby platypus named Ana. As Mr. Anybody congratulates Dr. Bill on his new baby, Lady Elaine asks Mr. Anybody to pick up his suitcase to show everyone it is light. Mr. Anybody is confused to find a heavy rock inside the heavy suitcase with the initials L.E.F. on it. Mr. Anybody and Daniel agree that Lady Elaine must have put the rock inside the case.
Mister Rogers talks about learning new skills like shoe tying. He has with him a silk top hat. After explaining what “collapse” means, Mister Rogers visits Betty Aberlin at Negri’s Music shop and lends her his hat for her magic tricks. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Lady Elaine removes all the props for the play from Mr. Anybody’s suitcase because she fears she won’t be included in the play. Mr. Anybody is angry at Lady Elaine for taking things out of his suitcase. He tells Lady Elaine that she can be in the play if she asks to be, not by stealing. Mr. Anybody tells Lady Elaine that things don’t come true by wishing and meddling. At Negri’s shop, Betty does a few more tricks before Mister Rogers leaves to go home. Mister Rogers shows that wishing will not cause a stack of blocks to fall. Everyone, he says, sometimes has scary, angry wishes.
Mister Rogers has two gerbils in a cage. After filling their water bottle, he says that food is necessary for growth. Mister Rogers goes to the McFeely house to get some gerbil food. Mr. McFeely is taking care of a Saint Bernard. Mister Rogers offers to watch the dog while Mr. McFeely makes some deliveries. Mrs. Simmons comes to Mr. McFeely’s house to pick-up her dog and shows Mr. Rogers a Saint Bernard puppy. Mr. Rogers goes home and feeds his gerbils. He talks about words that rhyme. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Lady Elaine and X are helping Bob practice for his role as pet in the play. Mr. Anybody plans to be the vet. King Friday is angry at Bob Dog for jumping on the castle wall.
Mister Rogers rhymes words. While watching two penguins brought by Mr. McFeely, Mister Rogers talks about their habits. Mister Rogers puts on a top hat and coat with tails in preparation for the play in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, the play begins. Bob Dog, the pet, is far away. Mr. Anybody, the vet, advertises in Ben Franklin’s newspaper for a jet. Lady Aberlin is the jet pilot who flies the vet to the pet. Corney suggests that the vet give the pet squash. Mister Rogers and Betty Aberlin talk about pretending to be other people.
