Mister Rogers hosts a pretend party and sets the kitchen table and enjoys an imaginary cookie. He talks about things that can frighten you when you are not expecting them. Lady Elaine Fairchilde is birdwatching and she refuses to remove her tents from the castle garden. Handyman Negri wants them gone by the time King Friday XIII returns from his visit with Sara Saturday. He tries to scare Lady Elaine away from the garden, but the plan fails.
Mister Rogers has a new aquarium with tropical fish in his kitchen which Mr. McFeely has set up. He brings food for the fish. Mr. McFeely delivers two catfish. He tells Mister Rogers the names of several varieties of fish and how to take care of the fish. Mr. McFeely returns to Mister Rogers’ house with a plant for the aquarium. He relaxes in the evening by reading a book about fishing and watching his own aquarium. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, the tents are still in the castle garden. Lady Aberlin and Daniel discuss how good people are sometimes bad. X has a pole and a hook on a string. He is “airing,” trying to catch some air. Lady Aberlin decides to go “tenting,” to get tents from Lady Elaine’s campgrounds. Lady Elaine says that Lady Aberlin is trying to steal her tents. Lady Elaine says she hopes there will be a lot of trouble when King Friday gets back. She is enjoying the mischief she is making even though her neighbors are upset and angry.
Mister Rogers feeds his fish–they are to be fed at the same time every day. Then he plays a matching game, using shapes and pictures on cards. Mr. McFeely brings over two piglets named Ron and Howie. Mister Rogers helps feed them. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Margie Nebraska has a crystal ball. She tells X and Henrietta that she has come to help prepare the castle for King Friday’s return the next day. They tell about Lady Elaine’s campsite in the castle garden. Margie Nebraska suggests to Lady Elaine that Someplace Else is a better place for birdwatching than the castle garden. Lady Elaine wants to move her campsite to Someplace Else. The tents are moved in Margie Nebraska’s balloon.
Mister Rogers shows how he packs a suitcase. He speaks French. Miss Emilie comes and reads a poem about rain. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Lady Elaine Fairchilde and X the Owl are at the castle taking down tents. Miss Emilie reads her poem to X and Henrietta. Henrietta Pussycat says that she doesn’t like rain. Miss Emilie talks about likes and dislikes. Handyman Negri announces the arrival of the king, who has brought gifts for everyone. Lady Elaine Fairchilde asks Miss Emilie to remove a sign which she, Lady Elaine, put on the castle balcony, because the king brought her a bird on a stick. Mister Rogers talks about how Lady Elaine was surprised to receive a gift from the king.
Mister Rogers explains the meaning of several traffic signs. Betty Aberlin stops by with a gift for Mister Rogers. It is a stone from King Friday XIII. Mister Rogers says he collects stones. Lady Aberlin comments that for the first time King Friday has brought presents for everyone when he returned from his trip. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, King Friday has called Lady Aberlin back because he has an announcement. King Friday announces that he will have a surprise for everyone next week. Lady Aberlin shows Edgar Cooke the new costume King Friday brought her. Mr. McFeely delivers a sign to the king and asks him the nature of the surprise. The king says it will be good. Lady Aberlin tells Henrietta Pussycat, Mrs. Frogg, and Daniel Striped Tiger about the king’s announcement. Everyone shows their presents.
