Mister Rogers tries to make a game at the sand table. He shows a video of some children creating a game. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Lady Elaine Fairchilde puts a car cover (that she made) on Trolley. Lady Elaine is doing research to get some ideas for her Museum-Go-Round. The king suggests two ideas involving himself, but Lady Elaine is not impressed. Handyman Negri, who is curious about the appearance of Trolley, summons Trolley following King Friday’s directions. Trolley appears with its car cover on. King Friday suggests that Lady Elaine invite neighbors to make and show all kinds of covers at the Museum. Mister Rogers and Mr. McFeely play miniature golf at a course where Neighbor Aber is the manager. Mister Rogers talks about not always having to keep score and individuality.
Mister Rogers shells some peas and sings “Children Can.” He visits Brockett’s Bakery to watch Eva Kwong’s grandmother make Chinese dumplings with sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaves. She gives Mister Rogers two meatless dumplings to take home. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Lady Aberlin is helping Queen Sara with her balcony cover. Edgar Cooke is looking for Chef Brockett who is to help him cover his refrigerator. Cornflake S. Pecially shows Lady Aberlin a horse cover he has made for one of his rocking chairs. Chef Brockett shows her the refrigerator cover he has made for Edgar : it looks like a chef’s hat and says “Not Hot” on it. On the way to the Museum-Go-Round, Corney’s rocking-chair/horse flies away from Lady Aberline. Henrietta suggests ringing her bell, which is covered with a pea pod. The horse/chair comes closer, but not enough to catch. Lady Aberline hurries to the castle to seek help, leaving Henrietta ringing the bell to keep the horse/chair close by. Mister Rogers hides a tiny bell in one of his empty pea pods, and counts the number of peas in another.
Mister Rogers demonstrates a knee chair. He shows a video of Mr. McFeely’s trip to a rocking horse factory. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Mr. Aber delivers some covers to Lady Elaine Fairchilde and goes to find Lady Aberlin. He finds Henrietta Pussycat still ringing her bell and tries to catch the rocking chair horse by climbing on a step ladder, but cannot reach it. Lady Aberlin arrives and shows the horse a picture of King Friday, but the rocking chair horse flies away. X the Owl suggests that the rocking chair horse be left to fly in the air. Lady Elaine thinks that this is a good idea. She gives Mr. Aber a head cover–a mask of King Friday to show the king that she really likes him. Mister Rogers wonders what the King will think when he sees the mask and talks about helping friends to know that you like them just by being yourself.
Mister Rogers brings a kitten named Jimmy and shows a film of his birth. He talks about his grandfather letting him watch kittens being born and then sings “Did You Know?”. Mr. Rogers talks about dreams and reality, then makes up tunes at the piano that he encourages his audience to dance to. May Sarton comes to talk about writing poetry. She reads two of her poems about a gentle cat and love. Chris De Vinck joins them and talks about poetry and his memories of being read to as a child. Mister Rogers says playing is a way of being creative and a way of thinking about your feelings. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Neighbor Aber puts on the King Friday cover and fools the King and Queen. The King is pleased and, after several tries, finally guesses who it is under the cover. Aberlin and Aber make up a dance. When they approach Daniel Tiger, he is fearful that if they touch him he will suddenly grow into a huge ferocious tiger. He is afraid of becoming big too fast. Neighbor Aber and Lady Aberlin talk to Daniel and ease some of his fears.
Mister Rogers visits the neighborhood playground which is in the final stages of completion. He tours the playground and discovers that it was designed by children and built by their families. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, it is the last day for the cover exhibit at the Museum-Go-Round. At X the Owl’s suggestion, Neighbor Aber goes to Cornflake S. Pecially to find out how to get the rocking chair horse down. Corney tells him that a person who is brave but does not know it must say some special words to the rocking chair. Charles sets off to find such a person. After asking various neighbors he asks Ana who suggests Daniel Tiger. Daniel undertakes the task after a discussion of his fitness, and the horse comes down. Mister Rogers talks about making something as well as one can and being proud of it.
