Mister Rogers puts together a wooden horse. Mr. McFeely brings a live horse and points out that real horses are all one piece. Chef Brockett brings cupcakes with numbers on them. Mr. McFeely, Joey Hollingsworth, and Dr. Bill Platypus go to Some Place Else because they heard that Donkey Hodie broke his arm. When they arrive they discover that an arm of the windmill is broken and Donkey is perfectly fine.
Mister Rogers plays a xylophone to express various moods. He goes to the studio of Jean Wilmouth, a percussionist. Mr. Wilmouth plays on the marimba, the tambourine, and the tom-tom. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Daniel is showing the magic kite how to play the xylophone. The kite tries to play. Lady Aberlin plays a sad melody because she misses the king and queen who are still on their honeymoon. The kite has a message, “They will come back Friday.” Lady Aberlin tells Robert Troll the news. He has been very sad and doesn’t believe the message. Then Edgar Cooke delivers a make-believe-gram to him. This confirms the kite’s message. Back with Mister Rogers, he talks about using play to express feelings.
Mister Rogers paints while listening to music. Mr. McFeely shows Mister Rogers some paintings he brought in a helicopter that were done by children. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Edgar Cooke and Joey Hollingsworth talk about the return of the royal couple. They plan with Lady Elaine to decorate the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. Lady Elaine has streamers and bows at the museum. Joey Hollingsworth puts up decorations. Lady Elaine wants Joey to wear a crown and a King Friday mask. He is concerned that the king might not like it. Lady Elaine says that it doesn’t matter; the king and queen have been away so long that they might not recognize their old friends in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe.
Mister Rogers brings old, big clothes for dress-up. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Joey Hollingsworth is dressed up as King Friday. The Neighborhood of Make-Believe has been decorated for the return of the royal couple. In an effort to untie a knot, Lady Elaine tries magic. Lady Aberlin unties the knot, opens the box, and finds a Sara Saturday costume that Lady Elaine wants her to wear. Lady Aberlin, dressed as Sara Saturday, and Joey Hollingsworth, dressed as King Friday, confuse themselves, X, and Henrietta with their costumes. X and Henrietta decide to get dressed up, too. No one is sure that the king and queen will like the costumes. Back with Mister Rogers, Mr. McFeely brings him some masks of famous people. There are also masks of Mister Rogers and Mr. McFeely.
Mister Rogers shows how reflections in a mirror are reversed. He says that a person can look in a mirror or look at others to understand his own appearance. Handyman Negri brings Mister Rogers a welcome sign.In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Robert Troll and Daniel are discussing how hard it is to wait for King Friday and Queen Sara Saturday to return. Robert Troll mistakes Lady Aberlin in costume for Queen Sara and is very disappointed when she takes her mask off. When the royal couple actually do return, King Friday sees Joey Hollingsworth and Lady Aberlin in costume. He thinks that he and Queen Sara have grown and that the costumed pair are a reflection of the royal couple. He is no longer confused when the costumed pair remove their masks. Robert Troll, however, won’t believe that Queen Sara has really returned until she speaks troll to him. Joey Hollingsworth announces that he is leaving on another selling trip.
