Today is opera day! Mister Rogers has an orchid plant and a lei made from its flowers. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Reardon and Lady Aberlin check on preparations for the opera. In the opera, Benjamin Franklin visits the Pineapple Can Telephone Company. Lady Elaine complains that she doesn’t like pineapple cans. She prefers tomatoes because she likes the color red. Ben Franklin invents pineapple cans in various colors. Lady Elaine is happy with a red one. Vice President Reardon and Operator Aberlin profess their love for each other. Back at the house, Mister Rogers wraps up by talking about how people can like different things and that differences make us special.
