Mister Rogers talks about pretending to be a bird. He visits Betty’s Little Theater. She is angry because Mary Sweenie is late. When Mary finally comes, they dance like birds, expressing their feelings. Cousin Mary Owl visits with X who then says he wants to be alone to write some poems. Henrietta is sad because X doesn’t want to be disturbed. Cousin Mary asks Henrietta to go with her to find a tree to roost in.

Mister Rogers does some secret writing with soap and a dark pencil. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, X still has a “Do Not Disturb” sign on his door. Lady Elaine thinks he is up to something and tells the king she wants to spy on X. The king forbids her to do this. Mr. McFeely tells them that X is writing poetry. Mister Rogers visits Mrs. McFeely who shows a film on dolphins and plays a record of dolphin sounds. Mr. McFeely arrives with some chicks.

Mister Rogers shows how to make a ball from rubber bands. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, King Friday has asked Queen Sara to find a star for him. X tells Handyman Negri that he doesn’t want to read his poetry at the castle because he is afraid others will laugh. Talking with Handyman Negri makes him feel better. Lady Elaine makes fun of X. To her surprise, everyone applauds her recitation that was intended as a mockery of X’s second poem. King Friday gives X a star.

Mister Rogers looks at a book about bread. He goes to Chef Brockett’s Bakery to see what kinds of bread are there. Chef Brockett shows how bread is sliced in a slicer. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, there is bread floating in the sky. The neighbors are frightened. When it lands near X’s tree, they see the letters O.C.S. on it. The bread is from the Owl Correspondence School. After X signs it, Chef Brockett puts it back in the bread, which then flies off.

Mister Rogers goes to the bike shop where Bob Trow is repairing Mr. McFeely’s bicycle. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Robert Troll is learning to ride Mr. McFeely’s bike. Corney can’t understand why a grownup doesn’t know how to ride. Queen Sara explains that just because Robert Troll is big doesn’t mean that he can do everything. Corney says he can’t swim. Robert Troll offers to help him learn.
